Slip & Plug Lid Tins Versatile Containers for Packaging Chemicals, Lubricants & Food

RLM Packaging manufactures both slip lid and plug lid tin containers. We predominantly supply the grease and adhesives industry, but these versatile tins can also be used to package waxes and pastes as well as food, confectionery and other dry goods.

We supply tins from 0.25 Litre to 3 Kg capacity with a minimum order of one pallet for all our standard sizes. We can also produce bespoke tins to your custom specifications.

Our slip and plug lid tins can be supplied with either plain, white, custom labelled, or custom printed external finish. Internally we offer plain or lacquered options.

We can also supply plastic or metal follower plates for use with our slip and plug lid tin containers. Follower plates are flat disks that match the inner diameter of the container, and sit on top of contents such as grease. The plate has a central hole, through which the contents are dispensed when the plate is pushed down.

All our slip and plug lid tins are made in England.

Slip Lid Tins

Our standard range of slip lid tins are produced with an 86mm diameter and a choice of heights.

Slip lid tins have an inwardly curled top edge and the lid slides over the outside wall of the container, similar to a biscuit tin. Slip lids fit tightly enough for friction to prevent the lid from falling off, but can still be easily opened and closed by hand.

In addition to industrial applications, these tins are a popular choice for packaging sweets, nuts, candles, and gifts.

Plug Lid Tins

Our standard range of plug lid tins are produced with either a 113mm or 153mm diameter and a choice of heights.

Plug lid tins have an outwardly curled top edge which allows full access to the inner wall surface. This makes it easy to completely drain the container or to scrape out high-viscosity contents such as pastes and waxes. The plug lid fits tightly into the neck of the tin as its name suggests.

In addition to industrial applications, these tins are a popular choice for packaging confectionery, tea, coffee, cocoa, and general dry goods.
